I purchased the comforter after having bought the 2920 sheets. It is warm, cozy and luxurious. It is neither too heavy, nor too light. It strikes a perfect balance. I love that it uses organic cotton and ethically harvested down. Highly recommend!

What makes Canadian down so good?

Warmth without weight: Per volume and weight, down is the lightest and warmest natural insulator known to man. As down expands to fill space, it generates warmth with a minimum use of weight.

No space for draughts: Down is light and pliable so it molds to your body shape leaving no space for draughts to creep in. This allows complete movement in bed as the duvet will follow the contours of your body and adapt to changes in sleeping position.

Down can breathe: Down has the ability to absorb the moisture we release in our sleep and pass it off into the atmosphere. This ensures you are cosy but not clammy. Down’s ability to breathe means it can regulate and achieve a comfortable temperature between you and your bedding, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for this down comforter?

To get rid of any dust & to help re-loft, air out duvet on cool, low humidity day. Spot clean with mild soap. For hard to clean stains, the comforter can be dry cleaned. However, frequent dry cleaning deteriorates quality & reduces life of duvet.

Should I choose 3-season or 4-season?

If night-time temps drop below 50 degrees, the 4-season is a good choice (except if you’re a hot sleeper). Generally we recommend the 3-season comforter to folks in Los Angeles or Florida. But if you’re somewhere where it gets colder in winter like San Fran, or experiencing winter frosts in Texas or Georgia, the 700 fill 4-season comforter will work great for winter – and then you’ll want to switch back to lighter-weight bedding once the temps warm up.

How thick is the comforter?

Because of the quality of down used, the 2920 comforter is thinner than your typical thick “puffy” comforter, but still sleeps warm. The 700-fill comforter is a little heavier and thicker (and warmer) than the 600-fill comforter. If you’re looking to stay warm in sub-50 degree night-time temps then we recommend the 700-fill. For year-round use in more moderate temps the 600-fill comforter is the better choice.

Is this duck or goose down? What’s the difference?

The 2920 comforter uses high-grade duck down. Goose down has a reputation for being the best (and most expensive), but there is no meaningful difference between high-grade duck down and goose down. To get the same quality duck down, we make sure the feathers are cleaned to a higher standard, and the “clusters” are the light and fluffy ones that trap warmth.

What’s the difference between fill power or “loft” and fill “weight”?

Fill power measures the space (in cubic inches) an ounce of down creates when allowed to reach its maximum loft. Basically fill power or loft is a rating of how well the down will trap heat. A rating of 650+ is regarded as high quality for warmth. Fill weight is measuring how much down is in the product. So, it is possible to have a heavy but cold comforter if the loft is under 600 even though it has a high fill weight.

Because the 2920 4-season comforter uses 700 fill down, the thickness (and weight) is a little less than the typical “thick” comforters you might see at lower prices. The 600-fill 3-season comforter is lighter and thinner than the 4-season comforter.

Do I need to use a duvet cover?

Yes! Please always use a duvet cover. This will help protect your investment in a high-quality comforter. Each dry-cleaning of the comforter accelerates the wear-and-tear so using a duvet cover will help protect it for years to come!
